In a gunfight in a bush near the Asaba/Agbor motorway in the state, Nigeria Police officers affiliated with the Delta State Command killed four kidnappers, the police agency revealed.
ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, said in a statement that this operation came after Abubakar Usman, also known as Shehu, the head of a well-known kidnapping group, was arrested. in the process of being questioned.
According to Adejobi, Shehu admitted to a number of crimes, including the abduction and murder of Mr. Godwin Anuka’s wife and daughter in Ogwashi-Uku, as well as the kidnapping of a doctor in Issele-uku, Delta State.
The suspect also led officers to the group’s hiding place in a woodland along the Asaba/Agbor road, where they ran into the remainder of the gang and were heavily fired upon, according to the Force PRO.

“During the subsequent gunfight, the agents were able to eliminate four gang members and retrieved three AK-47 rifles along with ninety rounds of live ammunition,” he disclosed.
In a separate development, Adejobi added, police officers affiliated with the Kano State Command detained Abdul Sadiq, 43, Ahmad Muazu, 22, and Aliyu Sharif “m,” 40, at Dorayi Babba, Kano State, on April 10, 2025, based on reliable intelligence.
