A federal judge in New York has ruled that American music mogul Puff Daddy be sent to jail at his arraignment, thus rejecting a bail proposal made by the rapper’s attorneys.
The embattled 54-year-old hip-hop mogul, P Diddy pleaded not guilty to s3x trafficking and racketeering charges when he appeared in court following his arrest by officers at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan, New York, on Monday.
According to the indictment unsealed on Tuesday, September 17, Puff Daddy was accused of running an “enterprise that he engaged in s3x trafficking, forced labor or kidnapping, arson and other crimes.” He was also charged with transportation to engage in prostitution and racketeering conspiracy.

During the arraignment, the prosecution claimed that Puff Daddy had cocaine in the hotel room when he was taken into custody by police officers on September 16.
Combs showed up for his arraignment on Tuesday dressed in grey sweatpants and a black long-sleeve shirt. The producer and rapper stood up to make a not-guilty plea in court.
Combs’s legal team had suggested a $50 million bail package, which would have included a $50,000 bond for the founder of Bad Boy Records. Prosecutors wanted him imprisoned, and U.S. Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky agreed with them.
