32-year-old Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, a Nigerian man who is suspected of killing his fiancée, Salome Adaidu, violently, has admitted to the crime and blamed his actions on betrayal and envy.
The Nasarawa State Police Command’s Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia is currently under charge of Ajayi.
The victim, a 24-year-old corpsman stationed in Abuja, was allegedly killed while visiting Ajayi’s residence in New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.
On Sunday, January 12, the suspect was seen dismembering her body and trying to dispose of her severed head.
In an interview with Channels Television, Ajayi, who was clearly injured from a mob fight before his detention, confessed to the murder during a press conference in Lafia.
He disclosed that he had found evidence of infidelity on Adaidu’s phone, which pushed him to act without planning.
“I killed her because we don’t always have each other; it wasn’t my intention. On that day, it did indeed occur. She was cheating; it’s not like I had the strategy in mind.

When asked if he regretted his actions, Ajayi replied, “I don’t have any regrets because life is reciprocal that is what I thought. If you must do something to someone, you have to be reciprocal with that person.
“You have to understand what that person is going through so that you can actually put yourself in the position that the person is going through. That is why I don’t have any regrets because we were actually compatible.”
