The accomplishments of Flutterwave and its founders were praised by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who emphasized the vital role that opportunity and resilience play in propelling Nigeria’s development.
During the week, Sanwoolu spoke at the fintech company’s tenth anniversary inaugural gala night, which was hosted at the opulent “The Delborough Lagos.” He emphasized the significance of enabling young Nigerians to attain global brilliance.
Recalling the difficulties of past decades when making international calls was difficult and expensive, Sanwoolu reflected on the development of Nigeria’s telecommunications system.
He commended former Presidents Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone and Olusegun Obasanjo for their leadership in establishing the economic and technological advancement of their nation.
The governor gave Flutterwave’s CEO and founder, Olugbenga Agboola (GB), praise for revolutionizing payment infrastructure and building a platform that has handled more than $50 billion in transactions in just a decade.
“We must give young Nigerians the opportunity to fly,” Sanwoolu stated, calling on the country to develop its creativity and encourage creative endeavors that might establish Nigeria as a world leader.
Along with recognizing other influential people in technology and finance, like as Dr. Cosmas Maduka, he emphasized Lagos’ willingness to accommodate companies that promote expansion and global collaborations.
Sanwoolu called for more funding for education and infrastructure in order to guarantee that Nigeria’s youth may reach their full potential and make significant contributions to the nation’s progress.
