Between February 27 and March 6, 2025, Nigerian Army troops are said to have killed 92 militants.
Major General Markus Kangye, the Director of Defense Media Operations, affirmed this at a news conference in Abuja on Thursday.
As part of a briefing on military and security agency activities, General Kangye said forces also arrested 18 people involved in oil theft and successfully freed 75 kidnapped hostages.
Among those captured by the Nigerian Armed Forces, he said, were violent extremists, gunrunners, and those involved in oil theft. Furthermore, the air component carried out a large number of air interdiction operations, armed reconnaissance patrols, and close air support visits.
Operation Safe Corridor, which has its operational base in Tsafe, Zamfara State, was recently initiated by the Defense Headquarters in northwest Nigeria.

Five key pillars—disarmament, demobilization, de-radicalization, rehabilitation, and reintegration—form the foundation of this program.
After successfully implementing the program in the Northeast, targeting Boko Haram defectors, it is now scheduled to extend into the North-West to address the ongoing security issues in states like Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Sokoto, and Kaduna.
