Rufai Hanga, a Senator representing Kano Central on the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) platform, has revealed that former Lagos State Governor and now Nigerian President Bola Tinubu summoned him to Lagos to discuss the creation of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Hanga, the APC would not exist without him.
According to reports, Hanga revealed this in a recent interview when answering questions about whether the NNPP is discussing joining the coalition led by opposition leaders.
Hanga stated that his leader, former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, has been Tinubu’s buddy for many years.

He mentioned Kwankwaso’s invitation to join the government, which was later withdrawn.
The NNPP chieftain stated, “We have not made any decisions yet, but you will hear them within the next one or two months.” My leader has a long-standing friendship with President Bola Tinubu. They invited Kwankwaso to join the administration from the start because they had a deal, and he accepted.
“But that deal was thrown out, and he was dropped. We thank God it happened so early, before anything started. There is a lot of betrayal in this country. Without me, APC would not have existed, and no one would have paid me a dime. Tinubu came to Arewa House in Abuja and invited me to his home. We sat in his bedroom and decided how APC would be formed.
“We’ve been together a long time, and I hold a lot of regard for him, but his spin doctors don’t see it. They just know themselves, which has never happened before in our country.
“individuals from different sections of the country have reigned, but we have never seen a situation in which individuals openly boasted that it is their time. They do things with impunity, and when you confront them, they will tell you it is their turn.”
