Law Mefor, the Anambra State Commissioner for Information, has refuted claims that Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the state governor, intends to target Catholic priests following his reelection.
According to a news article that some bloggers were sharing, Soludo warned his followers that native doctors were no better than Catholic priests, whom he had begun to target, and that he would target them as well when he was re-elected.
However, in a news release, Dr. Law Mefor, the Commissioner for Information, advised the public to ignore the article, calling it deceptive and untrue.
He stated: “A false report that has been making the rounds in some media outlets claims that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, intends to detain and imprison Catholic priests and bishops following his reelection. This has caught the attention of the Anambra State Government,” he said.

Since the shadow opposition has primarily relied on propaganda due to a lack of campaign materials, it is evident that their efforts are failing.
According to Mefor, the state administration has been leading the charge against fake news and will not back down.
