Foluke Daramola-Salako, a Nollywood actress, has talked candidly about the difficulties she encountered on the personal and professional fronts during the 2023 election.
She said in an interview with Behind The Fame TV that she will take a different tack in 2027.
According to reports, she disclosed that she lost two ambassadorship engagements worth 10 million and 15 million naira in 2023 as a result of her decision to back President Bola Tinubu.
She also revealed that her position nearly destroyed her marriage.

“The fact is that I cannot be the same person I was in 2023 and 2027,” she stated. It can’t be because No matter how much is viewed, I am aware of what I lost without gathering a kobo. Due to the election and the Obidient movement, I lost two ambassadorial deals, one at 10 million and the other worth 15 million. I nearly had my marriage ended.

“The important thing is that I voted based on my conscience and my choice, even though I nearly lost my marriage.”

APC’s 2023 presidential campaign committee in Lagos State hired Daramola-Salako as a media assistant for the performing arts directorate department.

She defended her devotion to Tinubu in the face of criticism, calling him a father figure who had helped her on several occasions, including her wedding.

Peter Obi’s supporter and Lagos chairman of the Labour Party, her husband, Kayode Salako, defended her position.

Nigerians are free to back anybody they want, he said.

He referred to Tinubu as a benefactor to their family and stated that they would prefer not to back any political candidate than to oppose him.
