After an explosion rocked a building and shook the surrounding region on Friday night, panic swept through the Ikeja Under Bridge area.
Witnesses stated that a solar inverter that blew unexpectedly was responsible for the explosion, which happened at approximately 6:30 p.m.
“A blowing inverter was the source of the explosion. On the site already is the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service. Rabiu Abass told Vanguard, “People were seen running in panic due to the heavy traffic in the area.”

Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, the director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, verified the occurrence and reassured the public that the situation was under control and that firefighters were present. “There is no reason to be alarmed. “We have the situation under control,” she said.

At 8:30 p.m., firefighters and rescue personnel were still on the ground, attempting to put out the fire that had spread to a nearby structure.

On Thursday night, at least 12 stores were reportedly destroyed by a fire in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The fire started at 10:55 PM in Block A, No. 64, Mayegun Cement Store Market in Araromi, Agodi-Gate, and lasted for more than three hours until being put out, according to witnesses who spoke to reporters about the incident on Friday.

According to information obtained, the fire caused damage worth millions of naira.

According to additional research, the event was caused by an electrical surge close to combustible items.

Yemi Akinyinka, the state fire service’s general manager, verified the occurrence to The PUNCH in Ibadan on Friday, saying that the emergency call was received at exactly 11:02 PM.
