The ceremonial decoration of Eze Dr Chika Nwokedi as the elected chairman of Ezendigbo council Lagos.

HRH Dr. Chika Nwokedi was decorated and confirmed the elected chairman of the council of Ezes In Lagos state on the 7th, May 2023 at his palatial residence in Lagos.
The glamorous ceremony had dignitaries, royalties, cabinet chiefs of Ijegun Ijeododo palace, friends and well wishers in attendance. The event was power packed with activities of certificate presentation for returning office holders of the Eze council in Lagos, a closed door meeting to deliberation on the roles of the new government, unifying decisions, speeches from royalties, merriments and so on.
Dignitaries and Royals who swarmed in are: Hon.Jude Idimogu ( member, House of Assembly ), Eze Nicholas Emenike Njoku (Ezendigbo Ejigbo), Chief Sunday Ude(President General Igbo Speaking Committee), Prince Quadri Akinremi, Eze Dr. Alex (Fi Oba se’ ilu of Ejigbo),Eze Chukwudi Arinze(Ezendigbo Okota Isolo, The Vice Chairman Ndi Eze Lagos state), Eze Augustin Sunday Ezeudo(Ezendigbo Amuwo Odofin) and other royalties present.
Hon. Jude Idimogu member Lagos State House Of Assembly was also decorated as the new patron of the council of Ezendigbo in Lagos. In a chat with the press, he was very expressive on the conduct of the Ndigbos in Lagos. He appreciated the Yorubas for being very accommodating while he proposes peace and harmony amongst the tribes who resides in Lagos, says the Igbos are also major contributors to the economic growth in Lagos but should learn to be bridled with utterances and live in peace. Appeals to the president elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to also extend his considerations of inclusive government to the Igbos in Lagos as promised in portharcourt during his visit as he assures that the president elect is a good choice for Nigerians.

“Chief Sunday Ude, the president general of Igbo speaking community Lagos expressed profound satisfaction with the choice of the Ezes in Lagos to present an elected chairman Eze Chika Nwokedi as the man worthy enough to take on the mantle of chairmanship of the Eze council Lagos. He said the creation of Igbo kingship in Lagos is created to see to the affairs and conflict that arises inter-tribal. Advised him to be of good conduct, he should know his duties and be loyal to the authorities above him, work hand in hand with the Obas of his jurisdiction.”
“Prince Quadri Akinremi, the son of the Oba of Ijegun, HRM Oba Nureni said Eze Chika Nwokedi has been a very cooperative leader of the Igbos in Ijegun and has always respected the authority of the Oba over certain decision making, keeping cordial relationship, described Eze Chika as a philanthropist, says he deserves this new feat as the Council chairman of Igbos in Lagos, advices him to be steadfast at what he does while he maintains his principles as a firm leader.”
” Eze Emenike Nicholas Njoku said, the event is a special day for the Ezes in Lagos to converge in unity more than ever. As the PRO of the council, his designated duty is fixed on dissemination information to the forum of igbos to carry them along on the activities or decision making of the council as well as the mouth piece. Advises the elected council chairman to be courageous, determined, focused, pay deaf ears to gossips, stand up to challenges ahead, exercise patience also due to the sensitive position he is holding to avoid distraction and limitation. The igbos should have faith in their leaders and confide in them before taking certain unlikely steps.”
“Eze Dr Alex, Fi oba se’ ilu of Ejigbo stated that the event is a progressive one in cognizance with the attendance of all Ezes in Lagos to witness the inauguration of the elected council chairman. Says his advice to the elected chairman, Eze Dr. Chika Nwokedi is to unite all Ezes in Lagos whollistically.”
“Eze Chukwudi Arinze, Ezendigbo Okota Isolo, The Vice Chairman Ndi Eze Lagos state also stated that the event serves as the first meeting all Ezes will be having with the new council chairman Eze Dr Chika Nwokedi, says he trust that the new council chairman will carry everyone along in unity and peace, advices him to settle the disputes amongst other Ezes who haven’t joined the fold, promises to stand by the newly elected chairman through thick and thin.”
“Eze Augustin Sunday Ezeudo, Ezendigbo Amuwo Odofin, Financial secretary of Ndi Eze council, Lagos State also said the new decisions made by the council has been put in place to set a standard for other factions to join the fold, he said.”
Speaking with Eze Dr Chika Nwokedi, he expresses profound gratitude over the electoral decisions taken by Ezes to make him the chairman, council of ‘Ndi Ezes’ in Lagos State. He promises to fulfil his responsibilities according to his role, it is paramount for him to keep peace amongst the people, he quipped.
HRM Queen Pst Tessy Chika Nwokedi, Ugoeze of Ijegun applauds her husband for achieving his newest position, said kingship has been a mantle he bore since inception, it is what he was born to be. She said she will always support him through prayers and that he should also take care of himself and carry the mantle with wisdom.

Speaking with a friend of HRH Eze Dr Chika Nwokedi, Mr Austin, the chairman Freedom Ultimate Club Ladipo branch, he noted that HRH is a father and a good friend, advises him to keep up the good work, his honesty and kindness is what speaks for him, he said. His Vice Chief Ndubuisi also had nothing but goodwill messages to the newly elected chairman of Ndi Eze council Lagos.
