With the unexpected death of actress Pat Ugwu, the Nollywood industry is in deep mourning.
Through his Instagram account on Wednesday, renowned actor Emeka Okoye announced the 35-year-old actress’s death.
Okoye bemoaned the fact that he would never be able to collaborate with Ugwu again and prayed for his fellow workers’ safety and longevity.
Emeka wrote: “Rest in peace, sis,” in an announcement of her death. At @patpat_ugwu, Pat Ugwu so we are unable to resume our work? Death, why? Please God 😭😭😭. Let PAT rest in peace. I pray that the Lord would hold your soul in his arms. Please, God, keep my coworkers safe, especially the ones I’m close to. It’s terrifying to see this strange death. Using the priceless blood of Jesus, I declare life to everyone in my vicinity in 2025. “Amen.”
The actress’s family has revealed the burial preparations, which call for the actress to be interred on February 6 and 7, 2025.
In the meantime, the burial has taken place for Moses Korede Are, a Nigerian gospel actor who starred in the Mount Zion Abattoir series as Baba Gbenro.

Baba Gbenro, the founder and international president of Calvary Movies Drama Ministry, which is headquartered in Ogbomoso, Nigeria, was remembered as having died in November 2024.
Online photos from the funeral ceremony showed the fans, dressed in white and blue, paying their final respects to the beloved celebrity at his final resting place.
