On Wednesday afternoon, Tunji Disu was sworn in as the 23rd Inspector-General of Police (IGP) by President Bola Tinubu.

The president also swore in two commissioners from the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) and six commissioners from the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) at the occasion, which was held in the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja.

Ministers, high-ranking government officials, and members of the appointees’ families attended the ceremonies, which took place before to the first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in 2026.

Following the swearing-in event, the FEC got underway with a sizable number of council members present.

Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, National Security Adviser (NSA), and Mrs. Esther Walson-Jack, Head of the Federation’s Civil Service, are among those present.

The majority of the ministers are also there.
