WOMAN CAUGHT WITH STOLEN CHILD & FORGED ADOPTION PAPERS

Police detectives at State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, Lagos, have arrested a 43-year old woman, Victoria Chizaram, who allegedly stole another woman’s child and forged adoption papers of a motherless babies’ home as having adopted the child from them.

 The suspect of the stolen baby, Victoria Chizaram, allegely stole the child at Maza Maza area of Lagos State and kept in her home at Rev. Ajani Street, Iliyasu, Ilewe Bus Stop, Egbe and forged the adoption papers of the Mercyland Motherless Babies Home.

However, while the parents of the missing boy were looking for him, information leaked that it was the suspect, Victoria Chizaram, who stole the boy and the natter was reported to the Police at Ikotun Division.

During interrogation, she claimed that she had adopted the child from the motherless babies’ home, which turned out to be false.

She was then arrested and transferred to the SCID, Yaba, for further investigation. The investigation reportedly revealed that Victoria was among the members of a human trafficking syndicate, who are now at large.

Having been found culpable, she was subsequently charged before the Ebute Metta Magistrates Court for child theft and forgery.

She pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr. Olatunde Kehinde, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.O. Ekundayo, granted her bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He was remanded in custody pending when he will perfect her bail conditions and face trial for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty.( PM EXPRESS)
