According to reports, the singer claimed to have been telling people she was 22 for three years in a chat with media personality Chude Jideonwo.

The “Knack Am” singer claimed that when she realized she was 25, she went into sadness because her mind was unable to cope with the fact that she was getting older.

Yemi Alade claims that not knowing her true age caused her to struggle mentally for three years.

“I was asked my age once, and I kept saying I was 22 for three years,” she added. Then I realized I was twenty-five. I did the math after pulling out my phone. For several days, I felt depressed. My thoughts weren’t processed.

“I didn’t know my correct age for three years; it was insane.”

Nancy Isime, a Nollywood actress, recently talked about her early years of working hard in Lagos and how Yemi Alade helped her through one of her most trying times.

In her social media post, Isime, who started working at the age of 17, disclosed that she initially worked as a model and usher, frequently traveling far from her home in Ikorodu.

She frequently found herself unable to return after finishing late, forcing her to sleep on chairs or rugs at event locations or rely on coworkers for housing.

When she contacted Yemi Alade, who was then a friend, her story took a different turn.

Yemi readily consented when Isime requested if she could spend some time at her off-campus flat.

Even though Isime stayed for weeks, Yemi never voiced any complaints.
