Despite criticism from opposition lawmakers, Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State, has insisted that President Bola Tinubu will win the state’s 2027 presidential election.
According to reports, Okpebholo revealed this when Ayodele Olawande, the Minister for Youth Development, accompanied him to examine some of his administration’s legacy projects.
Okpebholo questioned why the Edo people would not vote for President Tinubu, claiming that projects are dispersed around the state, demonstrating his support for his administration.
The Edo people were reassured by the governor that they will continue to benefit from democracy through effective governance.
“You can see the jubilation and cheers from the people assuring us that 2027 is certain,” he remarked. Edo is for President Tinubu; my detractors are free to criticize me, but 2.5 million votes cannot be compromised.
