According to the All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Osun State, Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, has not needed to offer counsel on the state’s crisis.
Makinde was instructed by the party to cease calling them the aggressor in the state’s ongoing political standoff.
“About 10 persons from the attacks of the PDP hoodlums across the state have been consumed by the chaos over the control of local government areas in Osun,” the APC stated.
While in Osogbo, Osun State on Sunday to observe his counterpart Ademola Adeleke swear in the council chairmen, Makinde reportedly counseled the state APC to go to court rather than rely on self-help to resolve the issue.
The APC, however, responded by saying in a statement through party spokesperson Kola Olabisi that Makinde was only attempting to win Adeleke over.
Governor Makinde’s counsel was superfluous, Olabisi stated, because all the evidence suggested that the governor of Oyo State was spitting white spittle and internalizing metaphorical blood to appease his fellow governors from the same party.
When his political soulmate in the former State of the Virtuous exploited the sacred space of the Osun State Government House to provoke his party followers to launch a full-scale assault on our members and chieftains, we might wonder where Governor Makinde was.
Where was Governor Makinde when the freshly reinstated chairman of our party in Ikire, Hon. Remi Abass, Irewole Local Government Council Area, was shot dead by political thugs of his party, seemingly encouraged by Governor Adeleke’s earlier incitement?

When daredevil thugs linked to his party’s violent thugs nearly killed a former party chieftain, Engr. Remi Omowaiye, a current Executive Director at the Federal Housing Authority, and Mr. Tobi Famurewa in Ilesa a few days ago, the party pleaded with Makinde to explain to Nigerians why he lost his voice.
“We want to make it clear to Governor Makinde that he is not in a better position to instruct the APC leadership on how to use the Court of Appeal’s Akure Division ruling from February 10, 2025, to further the ongoing efforts of our duly elected chairmen and council members.”
