The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) National Chairman, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has insisted that the Vice-Presidential candidate of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Kwankwaso, did not buy nomination form from the party.

Baba-Ahmed was said to have made the clarification on Tuesday in an interview on ARISE Television’s Morning Show, responding to the allegation that Kwankwaso bought 69 nomination forms to take over the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

But Baba-Ahmed said it would be impossible for Kwankwaso to have bought 69 forms from the PRP in Kano, stressing that the former governor has no official link with the party.

The National Chairman said the man who alleged that Kwankwaso purchased the PRP nomination forms is not a member of the party.

“This is pure fiction and I appreciate the opportunity to clarify this,” he said. This is just a complete lie. The real Kano state chairman of the PRP had issued a statement that

“Kwankwaso could not have purchased 69 forms from the PRP in Kano. “We don’t sell forms in Kano. We sell Abuja forms.

The party does not know the man who said that 69 forms were sold to Kwankwaso. He is not holding any post, has no authority to sell nomination forms on behalf of the party and we do not recognize him.

“This whole thing could have been cooked up as part of some problems or some politics in Kano. We sold forms to all the others from Abuja for the PRP.

“We sold forms to candidates from Kano. They signed up, they ran, they had primaries over a month ago.”
