A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Obidient Movement, Dickson Iroegbu, says the candidacy of Peter Obi as President and Rabi’u Kwankwaso as Vice President could make the Presidential Villa “lose sleep.”

Iroegbu made the statement on Friday during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time.

He added that if Kwankwaso realizes he could form an alliance with Peter Obi, the duo could make a significant impact in the 2027 general elections.

Prior to the 2023 general elections, Kwankwaso had been offered the chance to be Peter Obi’s running mate under the Labour Party, but he declined. He reportedly later regretted the decision, saying he would have accepted the opportunity to deputize Peter Obi.

The former Kano state governor also reportedly mentioned that he would join any political party that offers him either the Presidential or Vice-Presidential candidacy for the 2027 elections.

“From the experience Kwankwaso has gained, if he realizes that he can form an alliance with Peter Obi, the two of them could make a major statement in 2027. The candidacy of Peter Obi as President and Kwankwaso as Vice President will definitely make the Presidential Villa lose sleep,” Iroegbu said.
