The All Progressives Congress (APC) does not intend to rezone its political positions before to its national convention, according to Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State and the chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).

Speaking to reporters following a Progressives Governors Forum meeting in Lagos on Sunday, Uzodinma revealed the information.

He was adamant about maintaining the current zoning regulations.

“We’re not going to rezone. The offices have already been zoned. The President remains in office. The Vice President remains in office.

It goes without saying that the positions will stay in place under the Electoral Act.

“Primaries are not the purpose of this specific convention. INEC will administer the elected office primary.

Uzodinma declared, “This convention is for party officers who will run our party.”

Prior to the party’s planned ward and local government congresses throughout the country, Uzodinma met with important All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in the state and urged members to stay cohesive and concentrated.

The governor reportedly stated that the results of the congresses would determine the party’s future and electoral prospects when he spoke to party officials yesterday at the Sam Mbakwe Executive Chambers in Government House.

Uzodinma emphasized the necessity for peaceful harmonization between candidates and party loyalists, emphasizing that discipline and harmony among members remained essential to maintaining election triumphs.

“I implore interested parties to work together to strengthen the Party’s framework and improve its chances of winning elections. The cooperation and sincerity of its members are critical to the Party’s success, he stated.

Additionally, he urged party officials to take into account a range of viewpoints when making decisions and promoted inclusive leadership.

“I support inclusive leadership and the inclusion of all Party voices in decision-making.

The governor continued, “APC is a family bound by a common vision for development, hence I urge adherence to dialogue to resolve disagreements.”

The governor insisted that the party’s unity is what makes it strong and urged members to put the needs of the group ahead of their own.

He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to security and development while praising the efforts of party officials and grassroots activists in extending the party’s influence throughout the state.

MacDonald Ebere, the party’s state chairman, praised members in his speech for their efforts in the continuing electronic registration process.

He also urged members to continue their commitment to a peaceful congress and thanked the governor for creating what he called an enabling climate for the party to flourish.

In a same vein, Godwin Anawore, the Chairman of the Committee for the Ward and LGA congresses, emphasized the significance of the exercise and expressed hope for the party’s future.

He noted that the congress will be vital in bolstering the party in advance of next elections and praised the governor’s role in promoting unity among members.
