Abiodun Adeniyi, a communications professor at Baze University in Abuja, claims that the ruling All Progressives Congress’s (APC) strategy to employ FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to dismantle the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is well underway.
During an interview on Arise Television’s “Prime Time” on Monday, Prof. Adeniyi made the claim while answering questions.
He was responding to the PDP national convention that took place on Sunday at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Wike has supported President Bola Tinubu and the APC since 2023, he said, adding that it has become more stable.
He claims that it looks like the PDP won’t have a role in the general elections in 2027.
“The PDP is already being destroyed by the APC’s plot to utilize Wike. And as we approach the election in the following year, it is even stabilizing and becoming much more sustained.
“Wike has made it clear that he does not want the PDP to field a candidate strong enough to oppose President Tinubu. “He is clear that he wants to back the President,” Adeniyi stated.
