Many Nigerians have reacted to the statement by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Remi Tinubu that small businesses such as akara, roasted corn, kuli-kuli require little capital to start.
In a viral video, Remi reportedly told journalists that the administration was supporting small businesses with money in grants and not loans.
“Starting akara business doesn’t take a lot of money,” she said. It doesn’t take much to get to roasting corn or kuli-kuli. We didn’t give them a loan, we gave them a grant. We have been encouraging Nigerians in all ways we can. “I also turned to several others.”
