The alleged suspension of Senator Ireti Kingibe by her Wuse ward has been deemed invalid by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) national leadership.

Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, stated that the ward was not authorized to remove a sitting senator from the party.

In response to questions from Leadership Newspaper, Abdullahi downplayed the purported action.

When he first responded to the news, he claimed not to have received any formal confirmation of the suspension.

“I have no idea. “I don’t possess this knowledge,” he remarked.

He clarified, however, that the decision would not have constitutional validity even if it had been made at the ward level.

“A senator cannot be suspended from the party by the ward.” “They have no idea what they’re doing,” Abdullahi said.

Senator Kingibe responded to the news by characterizing the reported suspension as unlawful and ineffective.

She said that the individuals responsible for the action lacked the constitutional power to do so.

The politician claims that the people who made the statement were unaware of the party’s constitution.
