Senate President Godswill Akpabio has given reasons for his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Akpabio said a progressive-minded person like him should be in a progressive family.
“When APC approached me, I realised that PDP was not the right party for me all along, and so I took an early exit and joined the progressives,” he said.
Akpabio made the fresh revelation on Friday at the inauguration of access roads to renewed hope cities and estates in Karsana West District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
“A person like me who is progressive minded should be in a progressive family, therefore, when APC came to me, I found that that was my group and I was in PDP. So I left early and joined the progressives.”
