The bill was passed by lawmakers Wednesday

The senators had earlier decided to resort to manual voting for the consideration of the state police bill after its electronic voting device developed a technical fault.

The resolution was reached as senators worried that some legislators might be disenfranchised if the chamber went ahead with the faulty device.

For manual voting, each legislator will rise to say their name and state their stance on the proposed state police framework publicly.

Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele.

proposed the motion to adopt a manual vote.
