Unknown gunmen broke into the Akunza village during a traditional wedding ceremony on Tuesday night, causing havoc in Ashige, a Migili-speaking residential neighborhood in Nasarawa State’s Lafia Local Government neighborhood.
It was discovered that the incident allegedly happened during the wedding celebrations, frightening locals and sending mourners running for their lives.
At least three persons were killed in the attack, according to a community youth leader who confirmed the incident to Daily Post. Several more suffered varied degrees of injuries.
He revealed that among those hurt were women and children, who are presently being treated at a medical institution.
The exact reason for the assault is still unknown as of the time this report was filed.
