The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State says that Governor Charles Soludo is lying to President Bola Tinubu.
Reports say that Soludo, the national leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has publicly backed Tinubu by saying that “progressives are working together.”
Senator Emma Anosike, the APC state chairman, said at a press conference on Friday that Soludo’s claims that his government is working with Tinubu are not true.
He said that Soludo was lying to the President to keep getting favors from him at the federal level while still working against the APC in the state.
Anosike said that Soludo hasn’t made the APC feel like they belong in his government or given them any space to breathe. Instead, he “goes around claiming that he’s working with Tinubu” and his party, the APC.
The chairman of the APC told reporters right after the newly elected state officers of the party were sworn in to get ready for the 2027 general elections. He said he would do everything he could to help them win.
“You must work for Mr. President if we are going to work together. So we need to send our first 11 to the National Assembly to work with the President.
“If you are working with Mr. President, you can’t come to the National Assembly with a different party. The party leader said, “If you think that you’re working together, that progressives are working together, let your progressives (APGA members) join APC, run for office in APC, and win.”
Anosike also told Soludo to officially join the APC to back up his claims of working with President Tinubu. This made it clear that his administration would not allow things to go on as usual.
