Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno and Senate President Godswill Akpabio met behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday, according to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The meeting is thought to be a part of larger conversations aimed at enhancing federal-state relations, according to reports. It highlights the President’s ongoing interaction with important political figures and state executives.
Akpabio, the state’s former governor, and two other prominent local politicians followed Governor Eno, the head of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom, to the meeting.
As of the time of writing, Punch reports that although specifics of the conversations were not disclosed, they might have focused on strengthening ties between Akwa Ibom State and the Federal Government and tackling matters of national importance.
A friendly and cooperative tone was conveyed by the three of them posing for pictures at the Villa following the meeting.

The visit was confirmed in a post on 𝕏 (previously known as Twitter) by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga.
Onanuga, who called Governor Eno the state’s APC leader, wrote: “On Friday, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom paid a visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In his state, Governor Eno is the APC leader.
