As the state continues to deal with a growing insecurity that has claimed many lives, Chief Samuel Ortom, the former governor of Benue State, has called off all of his 64th birthday celebrations in observance of the tragedy victims.
Ortom, who celebrated his 64th birthday on Wednesday, expressed gratitude to the Benue people and other Nigerians for their prayers and well wishes.
On Wednesday, Terver Akase, his media assistant, announced this.
“Due to Fulani terrorists’ ongoing, increased invasion, attacks, and needless deaths of innocent Benue people across various local government areas, I have decided not to have any celebrations or festivities.”
Chief Ortom says he has made the decision to help the victims and their families because he understands how much they have lost and suffered.
He sent his heartfelt sympathies to those affected and asked the Benue people to continue their fervent prayers for it.

Furthermore, Ortom urged Nigerians to seek God’s assistance in order to end the violence and establish lasting peace and security in Benue and other unstable areas of the country.
He also asked people to pray for Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, asking God to grant them the wisdom and strength to deal with the nation’s security challenges.
In addition to expressing gratitude to God Almighty for his mercy, good health, and benefits throughout the previous 64 years, this underlines my commitment to serving God and humanity in the years to come.
