The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Wole Oluyede, says he has no godfather in politics.
“People of the state are my godfather,” Oluyede said in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television on Thursday.
He was speaking ahead of the state’s gubernatorial elections on Saturday.
The fact of the matter is, it’s on record. Everybody knows that my godfather is the people themselves.
“The people have to believe in the hope that I have a track record of investment in this state. I’m the only person at this time in the history of this state that’s trusting the state to believe that we can invest in this state.
I’ve put my resources, my money, my time, my energy to say things can be different. I am very suspicious and wary about the fairness of the current police force in Ekiti.
“Where your own supporters are being arrested for reasons that you do not know and they cannot explain, and where, on the other hand, we have agents of the APC in my hometown attacking people with machetes and they are not arrested, then we need to question that,” he said.
