According to Lawal Batagarawa, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, ought to have complete legal protection.
He was responding to the accusations of phone tapping and other incidents involving the former governor.
El-Rufai has the right to be treated equally with all Nigerians, according to the ADC chieftain.
During a live appearance on a Trust TV interview program on Thursday, Batagarawa said this.
“El-Rufai, like every other Nigerian, is entitled to be treated fairly before the law,” said Batagarawa.
However, it would be incorrect to interpret his words as definitive proof of his guilt. You are not allowed to judge outside of the appropriate court. That’s the point we’re trying to make.
“El-Rufai need to get complete legal protection. Due process is not being observed in this instance. It should be evident that due process is being followed in an open, transparent, and—above all—fair manner.
Hadiza Isma, Nasir El-Rufai’s wife, has refuted claims that wiretapping equipment were found in their home by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
According to reports, the ICPC had previously asserted that during a raid on El-Rufai’s Abuja residence, suspected wiretapping and surveillance devices capable of intercepting private communications and gaining access to classified security information were found.
But according to a post made on 𝕏, According to Hadiza, the assertion was untrue.
“I was there,” she wrote. No such apparatus was discovered. They tell falsehoods. Yet why? A completely unreliable agency.
