In response to former vice president Atiku Abubakar’s departure from the People Democratic Party (PDP), Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, has spoken out.
In a video posted to his Instagram page, Fayose reportedly called Atiku’s departure a tremendous relief for the party.
He claimed to have personally wanted the former presidential candidate to be barred from the PDP for many years.
Atiku’s decision to leave the party for the third time in 20 years was ridiculed by him as an obvious indication of desperation.

The Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was asked by him to think about rejoining the PDP.
In order for a formidable candidate to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election, Fayose suggested that the party should allocate its 2027 presidential ticket to the South.
