Dino Melaye, a former senator from Kogi West, has talked about why he left the All Progressives Congress. He said that the way things were going in the party made him want to leave.
According to reports, he talked about his time in the ruling party and what made him decide to leave during an interview on Seun Akinbaloye’s Mic On Podcast.
Melaye said that the party’s environment became dangerous and no longer matched his beliefs. He said that the political situation around him at the time became too much for him to handle, so he had to leave to protect himself and think about where he was going.
He said that his choice was like a big change in his life and political journey. He made it clear that he didn’t leave the party right away; he thought about his future for a long time before making the decision.
He said, “I was working in a satanic environment.” I was in a dangerous place and had to leave. I had to change, just like Saul did when he was on his way to Damascus and became Paul.
The former lawmaker, who was known for often speaking out against government actions and political structures, said he needed to change his position and find a better way to reach his goals.
