Political commentator, Imran Wakili has said that the African Democratic Congress, ADC and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar may not recover from political setbacks allegedly caused by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.
Wakili, in a post on X on Thursday, argued Babachir had driven several notable politicians out of the ADC, making the party very weak, in his estimation.
There is no coming back from the damage Babachir did to Atiku and ADC! BINDOW is GONE, ADC has no one left but Atiku himself.
‘Bindow gone, why? Babachir. Abbo why you go? Babachir. Binani gone, why? Babachir. Why gone Nyako? Why Babachir. Nafiu Bala legal case? Babachir,” wrote Wakili.
Lawal had also resigned his membership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, last month.
The former SGF said he could not remain in a party he accused of running a “rigging machine” ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The emergence of the former vice president as a presidential candidate would ultimately boost President Bola Tinubu’s chances of getting a second term, he also claimed Atiku and his allies were pursuing ethnic and religious interests.
