Former Ogun State governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Iyabo Obasanjo, has reacted to the allegation by the party’s governorship candidate, Solomon Adeola, that she dumped the party after he gave her money.

Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, was reported to have claimed that Obasanjo left the APC for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to his failure to refund her campaign fee.

He alleged that when Obasanjo couldn’t get money from him, she went to the PDP governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu, for her demands.

In a statement, Obasanjo described Adeola as “a liar” and a politician of no integrity.

She said his claim was contrary to his efforts to convince her not to quit the APC.

“If Adeola thinks that the request for reimbursement was an insult, he would not have been calling me over and over again after I resigned from the APC, neither would he have offered me money to remain in the party,” she said.

In the last meeting with the senator, her political team asked for three things but Adeola did not give any of them or give feedback,” Obasanjo explained.

“My supporters have asked the senator for three things,” she said. The first is the Senate seat. The second is the refund of what I spent. The third is the inclusion of my people in his campaign.

I told him that whatever he came back with on these demands I would explain it to them. He didn’t do any of the three, and didn’t even talk to me again until he tried to call me after I left the party. I did not answer, and he offered me money.

If he thought it was insulting, why was he offering me money not to leave the party? This guy is a total fake. He’s a liar.

The requests were made by Hon Aroyeun, Chief Toyin Jokosenumi and Hon Biodun Ajayi. I didn’t ask for anything. I told him he didn’t have to do everything but he should tell me what he was going to do.
