The Supreme Court’s ruling recognizing Senator Esther Nenadi Usman as the party’s national chairperson has been praised by the leaders and members of the Labour Party’s Kaduna State Chapter.
A statement published by its Kaduna state chairman of the party, Elder Yusuf Solomon Danbaki said, “This triumph marks the end of a challenging journey and the beginning of a renewed era for our great party.”
“We have always known you as a gentle, patient, but resilient fighter who plays the game strictly within the rules,” he continued. We have all been inspired by your steadfast dedication to justice, equity, and due process, which shows that genuine leadership persists by tenacity and honesty.
According to Danbaki, the Labour Party Kaduna State Chapter is extremely proud of her historic accomplishment as the first and only woman to hold the position of party chairman of Nigeria’s first three political parties. She emphasized that this milestone not only improves the standing of women in Nigerian politics but also establishes a significant precedent for future generations.
“To our distinguished members throughout Kaduna State, we reiterate our commitment to living up to your post-victory declaration in court: “no victor, no vanquish.” We pledge to cooperate in this direction, promoting harmony and peace without animosity or division,” the statement said.
The state chairman urged all of their members to return to the Labour Party, where their opinions and efforts are cherished and more important than ever, if they had joined other parties during the uncertain time.
“Together, we can overcome challenges and chart a path forward,” he said, urging all those who felt wronged to put aside their grudges and work together to create a more powerful and inclusive party.
Danbaki stated that in order to prepare for congresses and the national convention, the party led by the chairwoman would shortly release its schedule of events.
He pledged that these actions would revitalize their institutions and put them in a better position to serve the Nigerian people.
