The Presidency has called Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, an inconsistent and opportunistic politician.
Bayo Onanuga, the president’s spokesman, said this in a post on his 𝕏 account in response to Obi’s claim that he could leave the African Democratic Congress (ADC) if the party’s internal processes were not followed.
During the interview, Obi defended his actions, saying that they were based on principle and not on his own gain. He said that he left the Labour Party because of planned sabotage from within.
“They set the house on fire and thought I would stay inside.” Obi said, “They yelled at me for not staying to put out a fire they started when I found a way out.”
Obi, who is now in the ADC, said that he cares more about what people do now than what they did in the past.
“Who people were before doesn’t matter; what matters is who they are now.” “We are going through something together, and if that something is messed up, I won’t hesitate to speak out,” he said.
Onanuga wrote in response, “Peter Obi, the most inconsistent, opportunistic, and peripatetic politician to ever work in Nigeria, hints that he might leave the ADC, just like he did with the APGA, PDP, and Labour.” Hear him out.
