Habibu Saleh, a spokesperson for the Kwankwasiyya Movement, said that the Movement is still strong even though Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Seleh said this in an interview with the Daily Post, in response to claims that his boss, Rabiu Kwankwaso, now shares Kano’s political structure with Yusuf.

Saleh said that the political situation in Kano is not new. He remembered that Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former governor, left the Kwankwasiyya Movement with a lot of political supporters, but the Movement stayed strong and eventually got back in power.

He said that even though they lost important people, including elected officials at the time, the group reorganized and came back stronger, and he thinks this will happen again.

He says that the ruling structure in Kano is not handling its internal divisions well, and this could help Kwankwaso win the next election.

He went on to say that people might not understand Kwankwaso’s power because they don’t know where he’s going in politics.

He said, “It may look like that on paper, but history has shown that it isn’t. This has happened to us before.

“We didn’t have a councillor, a lawmaker, or even a political appointee for a while, but we came back stronger and took power again.

“We are even more organized now, and I can promise you that things will not go back to normal. We will do better than we have before.

“The current political situation in Kano is not well managed. There is also no proper alignment between the APC and the government.

“What matters is getting rid of this government and giving Nigerians a better choice.

“Some people may not fully understand Kwankwaso’s political journey.” But we believe that the truth will speak for itself.
