Most of the recently concluded primary elections across various political parties were fraudulent, Director, Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Sam Amadi, has said.
Amadi stated this in an interview on Arise Television, saying that the results increased internal conflicts, and weakened party leadership.
He said the parties are not strong enough to discipline aspirants and members.
“Most of the party primaries were rigged. “Zoning also favored some of the aspirants for the House of Representatives but somehow they don’t get into the list, so governors’ influence matters.
“Again, if you look at the chaos in the parties’ organization, new entrants come in and crowd out old members. For instance in Delta State, where former governor Ifeanyi Okowa came in to unseat Ned Nwoko.
“Not that the likes of Nwoko didn’t perform, but some structural changes have dislocated them,” he said.
