No opposition in the nation can overthrow the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027, according to Farouk Aliyu, the former minority leader of the House of Representatives.
The opposition lawmakers’ trips to former President Muhammadu Buhari would be insignificant, according to reports citing Aliyu.
In an interview with African Independent Television (AIT) on Monday, the APC chieftain claimed that opposition parties had failed to meet their standards.
He extolled the virtues of the APC’s 2015 coup by overthrowing the government. “My party will not stand by while the opposition parties band together and establish a strong base,” he said.
“This country has no opposition.” They just no longer oppose each other. We stopped this nation in its tracks while we were in the opposition. We wanted them to come and oppose us because we didn’t like the government. The fact that they are rushing everywhere to meet with our own President Buhari is quite embarrassing.
Additionally, I would like to inform the public that we will not simply watch them come together. We shall not. He stated, “We’ll make sure to add sand to their garri.”
In response to a question on whether his party was involved in the major opposition parties’ leadership crises, he said that it was.
“Yes, to a certain degree, we are. We won’t just sit by and let them overthrow us, of course. No. No, we won’t. We will therefore continue to fill their garri with sand. They are welcome to come and battle us if they can grab the sand. But to be honest, there isn’t a strong opponent in this nation right now that can beat us,” he said.
He said that it was their business when informed that the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) did not oppose his party’s demise.
If Nigerians think the current government did not do well, he suggested they wait until 2027 to vote them out.

Since his party is in power, they promptly resolve internal issues, but opposition parties also fund certain APC crises, according to Aliyu.
“They’re doing it, of course. We are aware that they are also doing that, but we are different from them in that we have the government, which gives us a stake. As conflicting opinions are common in democracies, there are more things that unite us than divide us.
