Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), says that President Bola Tinubu will only serve one term and will not run for re-election in 2027.
Sowore said the comment on Friday while speaking to journalists and supporters in Abuja, according to reports.
Sowore said that President Tinubu is sucking the life out of Nigerians as people across the country get more and more angry about the economy and rising crime.
Sowore said that Nigerians need to fight back and make sure that Tinubu does not win the next election.
He said, “If he were to come back, I promise you, Nigerians, he will not come back.” He is the president for only one term. That’s the truth.
“And Nigerians can do it, because this guy came and is taking life from Nigerians. We don’t just stand in front of people and say we are hurting them. We are telling you the truth: it is about your life.
“This guy is taking people’s lives away. We have to fight back, though. “We have to fight it with everything we have to make sure we are still here after his terrible time in office is over.”
Rotimi Amaechi, the former Minister of Transportation and Governor of Rivers State, has also said that many Nigerians want to vote Tinubu out of office in 2027.
He said this on Friday while on Channels Television.
Amaechi, who was on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief show on Friday, said that things were getting worse in the economy and that people were having a harder time across the country.
The ex-minister said, “Everyone is in pain, and everyone is looking for food.” People can’t buy gas or travel. The airlines are threatening to raise the price of travel, and everything else is going up too.
“For the love of God, President Tinubu has no right to speak. He said he would give them power and that they shouldn’t vote for him if he doesn’t. People in Nigeria are waiting to vote him out.
